Those kits make nice tanks! I like all of the details. Thumbsup
Working on the far end warehouse....

The warehouse is kitbashed from two Pikestuff truck terminals and a modular loading dock, bringing it up to rail-car height.
An overview of the entire structure:

I need to devine some method to make the long plastic sections less flimsy. Perhaps glue in a layer of MDF?
Gumpoleon;
Whats your humidity like in your train room?
Standard MDF will take in moisture over time unless you paint it all over.
If you can get some High Moisture Resistance MDF which is what cabinetmakers use for kitchens and vanities or some HMR white melamine and even then paint the raw edges to further prevent moisture absorption.
Another option is to visit a local sign making factory and ask about perspex off cuts. You would be surprised how some of their of cuts will be enough strenghen heaps of buildings. Perspex can be cut with wood working tools but does require some considerations.

Those Faller tanks look great.

Humidity... It's in my livingroom... So i guess humidity will be 'normal' ?!?
As for alternate support materials - I'll see what I can scrounge up.
And the Faller tanks... thanks, the kit is very easy to build, parts fit together like only german Engineering can make them Misngth

I had to move the track in front of the warehouse about 1/8" to give the boxcars some clearance, I'd hate to shear details off my ยค"&& expensive models Thumbsup
The food plant is under construction!
Also, Christmas came early, and dumped a couple of 64' reefers in my lap!

The food plant is taking shape:

My phone camera is acting wierd - the reddish-brown base colour is green :?: in the 1st Photo

Colossal reefer for scale:

The internal structure is 2mm cardstock, cheapish and easy to Work with. If i have to re-do Buildings, I'll just scratch build them from that stuff :hey:

Have a good one!

Are those the BMLA reefers? They look great.
Engfanuk Wrote:Are those the BMLA reefers? They look great.

Spot on! I got 2 of 'em Goldth

I am considering scrapping the food plant Building and starting over.... I got sloppy with letting glue dry without putting weight on top, now it's sort of warped Curse
Hi Gang,

The food plant has been re-done. The structure is made from heavy Card stock, with evergreen styrene strips for the 'ribbed' parts.
Behold!

An overview of the enire food plant. The structuret is two foot (feet?) long, four inches Deep at the tall part, which is just under five inches tall.

The oil tanks is from a Faller kit...

Fully loaded with rail cars the plant looks something like this
[Image: 10863769_10152847249158400_1541017304365183232_o.jpg]

Jobs left to do is detailing, painting and mounting the roof section on the tall part.
I like it...Gives me some good ideas!
Great job on the Food Products structure! If I hadn't read the text on your posting, I'd have sworn it was one of those expensive Great West Models kits. And I really like the oil tanks. They don't overpower the structure and look just right. You've inspired me to try the same thing.
It's looking good. Makes me hungry for a modern ISL running lots of Gensets 357
I was looking at an Atlas Genset II.

Ugly, but wonderfully detailed 35

Alas, I'll have to slow Down on Investments at this time, I need Money for my other hobbies, such as rent and food.
Next Projects are:
Painting structures (need weather to cooperate for that one, as I can't spraypaint indoor)
Ballasting track
Adding 'asphalt' around the team track
Detailing structures - need them painted first

So much to do, so Little time Icon_lol
I'm...uh...looking for the mirrors?

Well, if you look at the Palmetto Spur plan published by Lance Mindheim, you'll find my layout is a rather exact mirror immage, hence the name Misngth

This plant is exceptionally well done! Who is the manufacturer of the two tanks you've added?
