Thanks Charlie, I just can't compete with the stuff you have posted in your trains in the past thread. You sir are quite the photographer.

I may need to clarify my statement,,, I was just trying to say that we have a lot of talented photographers here that I draw inspiration from. It's always nice to get a compliment from the teacher ,even if they don't know that they are the teacher. I feel that my skills have improved because of what other people have posted here. The Weekly Photo Fun, Trains in the Past, and the Non-Rail picture thread are great learning materials. I urge everyone interested in the photography part of the hobby to follow them.
Steve, your pictures are always a treasure and your captions and explanations, as well as knowledge is beyond anything I had to learn to keep an old clunker ( Tongue Alco running. To me the S2 was simple, the GP7 a nightmare.
You follow one rule I tell everyone and that is to get some scenery in the picture. I started with roster shots (which are great to have) but I wish I would have been farther back in a lot of them to get a better overall view. Today I stay back and use the telephoto to get the close ups. Years ago many photographers only took roster shots, and sadly had they captured some of the background it would have been a help to historians.
