The other walls of the Ashmore hotel kit with reduced height and less fancy. It will become a hotel as intended by Walthers.

Made another even lower simple raw building from the last two side walls of the Ashmore Hotel kit. I am not sure if it will find a permanent place on the layout. The overall impression moves away from the 60s and becomes quite contemporary. It is time to do some "City Classics" and "Lunde" kits next.

Replaced the three plain top levels with two more fancy. It is still no beauty.... and there must be a beam to support some pillars between the top windows.

The number of automobiles needed for an urban scenery is amazing

A short clip stored in flickr. A run around the loop. We start with the empty part at the west end and proceed along the raw built structures to the east end.

That is awesome. Your progress is amazing.

I agree with Charlie:  Great progress on the structures and autos, and that PCC is a nice smooth runner, too!

A string of row house fronts and and a side wall faceing the main street at the very left of the layout.

The row houses got to much weathering. A light brown wash made them nice homes again.

The last gap in the front row of raw buildings has been closed. This merchant's row buildings are to low to stand by them self. They require some background building front made from residual walls.

And then starts the endless detailing story ;-)

The flats behind the merchants row and the east side of 4th street got window dressing and their details. That ends the "raw building" phase and starts the detailing phase.

Nicely done details, too.  Something tells me that you were hungry when you added the signs, though.

It is right out of the late 50's.....Now I must go eat. Fried Chicken sounds good.
