Well, I painted the car with folk art paint, and then added diaphragms. I've had success with the craft paint. It is cheap, and readily available.

I am also among those using Folk Art paint. The nice thing is that if you screw up, a bit of rubbing alcohol is all you need to clean things up or wipe clean and start over again...
Found some old homemade decals and lettered the car. Pretty much done for now. Considering this is one of my first modeling projects since my eyes started going bad and I need glasses, I'm quite pleased.
That's a sharp-looking paint scheme, Kevin, and nicely-done decals, too.
