Bring it to the Highwheeler this weekend. But keep an eye on it, if I spot it and you aren't looking, it may go missing Wink

It's my intention to be there on Saturday. I won't have any display there....it's a long story, we don't display at that show any more....haven't for several years now.
I should be able to pack it in some kind of carrying case, let you know by Friday evening.

Not sure what day I'll be there, but I will definitely go to this one

Re: sumpter250's 2010 Spring Bash Challenge - Sumpter250 - 03-21-2010

Well, with ten days to spare, here's the finished project:
Boom car;

Crane;

Tender;

Tool and riding car;

Caboose;

The work train;

The shay is a possible candidate for the assigned locomotive for this work train. The 2-4-2 that's still under construction is a second, and more probable candidate. The loco will be another project, for another day ;

That whole train turned out really well, Pete, and it looks great in that paint scheme, too. Thumbsup Thumbsup Geez, and all done with ten days to spare, too. Eek I've just re-started work on my caboose today, but I doubt that it'll be finished in time. :cry:

DocWayne is correct, that paint scheme is terrific. And I love what you've done. I imagine there will be several more similar projects that like this that get built - I may do one myself!

I saw that you had taken a few "new steps" in the process. Deadline schmedline, I just want to see that caboose done.

What's interesting about the paint, is that the original orange, that the hustler was painted, was considerably more red. Makes me wonder if a bottle of paint got misidentified. I like this much better and will probably have to repaint all the narrow gauge stuff to match.

.....and if you do, this challenge bash will have been more than just a "contest".
