The Col. Marksberry. - ray_m - 01-13-2009 These are a few photos of the Prescott and Eastern's newest locomotive. It is a freelance locomotive built from an MDC 2-8-0 chassis, an AHM Casey Jones boiler and cab with an Aristocraft tender. Re: The Col. Marksberry. - shaygetz - 01-13-2009 Sheriff's gonna love that... Re: The Col. Marksberry. - TrainClown - 01-13-2009 That's a real fine looking loco, Ray. How does it run? Any motor re-working on this one? It's good to see your still building engines. Cool stuff. Christopher Re: The Col. Marksberry. - ray_m - 01-13-2009 Thanks guys. TrainClown Wrote:How does it run?Yes, I put a can motor in it. Marksberry. - jmarksbery - 01-13-2009 Oh Wow, oh Wow! Isn't that the most beautiful loco you ever saw? What a fantastic job Ray did on that thing. Oh man. Not sure I would have stuck that name on her though! Re: The Col. Marksberry. - Mileswestern - 01-14-2009 Exceptional kitbashing Ray, I would expect nothing less than brilliance from you. By george, you've done it again! Re: The Col. Marksberry. - Ralph - 01-14-2009 That's real nice looking! I especially like the roof on the cab! Ralph Re: The Col. Marksberry. - nachoman - 01-14-2009 Very nice work. Wasn't it the El Paso and Southwestern that had cabs like that? Re: The Col. Marksberry. - tetters - 01-14-2009 Nice. I always get a kick out of the level of creativity comes from the people who enjoy this hobby. Very economical too, you just recycled an old engine and made it new again. Re: The Col. Marksberry. - ray_m - 01-14-2009 Thanks again everyone. This locomotive project began as one of Jim's hand me down locomotives. nachoman Wrote:Wasn't it the El Paso and Southwestern that had cabs like that?I've seen this style cab roof on alot of the late 1800/early1900 locos . I'm not sure what the purpose was, maybe to venelate the cab or for iluminating the cab. Re: The Col. Marksberry. - doctorwayne - 01-14-2009 Nice job on your kitbash, Ray, and a nice touch using the spoked pilot wheels, too. The CNR was also very big on them, and used them on a lot of their locos. Wayne Re: The Col. Marksberry. - Spitfire - 01-14-2009 Excellent work Ray - you are a very talented modeller!!! Val Re: The Col. Marksberry. - ezdays - 01-14-2009 Totally typical of what we can expect from you Ray, an impressive and unique model to say the least. Thanks for sharing it with us, the Col. should be proud. Re: The Col. Marksberry. - Tyson Rayles - 01-14-2009 Most excellent Ray ! Re: The Col. Marksberry. - ocalicreek - 01-15-2009 Bee-u-tee-ful! Fine work as usual, Ray! Galen |
