There's also a clinometer app that's a bubble level and slope finder. There's even one w/ a compass. You can find it thru Google. Mine was free. There sure are alot of places here that look flat but aren't!

Commander Data has shut down, and cannot be awakened. His batteries have failed, there are no spares left on board, and the replicator program for replacement batteries developed a glitch and has become non-functional.
Anybody got a piece of paper, and a pencil ?
When my calculator dies, I still have, and can still use, a slide rule ! :o
OK, I do use AutoCad, and can scale the drawings from full size to whatever actual scale size I need, by simply using the reduction ratio for the desired (* 1:87.1 *) scale.

I have got the Woodland app for iPad. It is a wonderful expensive and complicated method to divide by 87 or 160 or ..... The best about the app is how easy and fast it can be deleted

Nice concept, but I never work with my cell phone or any other distraction near me. I just use a plain old calculator and keep a listing of all the handy measurements once I've determined them for the first time.

For android,
here's an app I developed for model RR. Calculates
-- grade
-- scale speed
-- helix
-- scale measurements
-- ohm's
-- scaling drawings
-- easement calculations
-- english/metric conversions
If you play around with it, let me know if there are any problems and how you like it.
I also have a computer version with a lot more functionality, if interested.
