They say cats choose their masters, and not the other way around. That's how I wound up with mine. I have never had a pet in my life, and one day a large orange cat with no ID started following me around the yard. After that, he would wait for me to come home from work, and never leave the yard - sleeping on the porch or under a bush. When he came and rubbed against my legs and then rolled over on his back and let me rub his belly, I decided I better start feeding him.

i have a big fat russian blue named beaker (dont ask me,he came with that name) but he and his siblings were abused by there old owners (now in jail ) by trying to drown them in a toilet then just throwing them in the garbage .but hes now a nice cat that follows me everywhere and does my rodent control but has a serious problem with sleeping on my chest....with his butt towards my face! ewwww!

Alicia gets all crazy about the brands and flavors of the food she buys our cats. I told her that given the amount of time they spend licking their rears, what does it matter? They ought to just make butt flavored cat food.

It's when he's dropped his first deuce on the rug, is when you know he's at "home". Mine hasn't done that since they were little kittens, but PEW! What a mess. Good thing I had Mr. Rug Doctor! I gave it to my youngest sis when she got her kitten 3 years ago. I told her, "here, you'll need this!"

About two weeks ago, while driving through the Air Force Academy, my wife suddenly pulled over, back up and rolled my window down, leaving me looking eyeball to eyeball with a bobcat at about 20 feet! I don't know which thought bothered me more - that I completely missed seeing him at first but she didn't, being that close to something like that, or the fact that he didn't seem impressed with me at all. :?
It's only the second time I've gotten that close to one of them in years, but they do not "meeow". Of course, neither does our male Manx at home. If he gets perturbed enough, he just yowls at me until I do what he wants - food is usually involved.
