Has anyone else built these ? I've always liked them and decided to build one motorized and one tag long that will be somewhat of a MOW rig . They don't run particularly well with the short wheel base especially through turnouts ....but it is running . Couplers , paint etc. is next .
To err is human, to blame it on somebody else shows management potential.
I've got two HOn3 versions. I had to wire them together in a permanent arrangement in order to have any kind of performance, which is still loud and not that great. Future plans may call for making a new mechanism from an N scale MDT switcher or other suitable N scale chassis. If I were doing standard gauge, I wonder if one of the trucks from the original spectrum (2 motor) 44 tonner would work.

I've got that 44 tonner ( HO ) with a N scale decoder in it .......won't give anything up from that loco . My box cabs are going to be more for decoration and maybe photo ops than runners .
