I learned today, from a friend, of the passing of a former Member here, Jim Marksbery.
I knew Jim only through this Forum and the "other one", but enjoyed his contributions and his comments. May he rest in peace.
There's a little more information
HERE.

Oh, I am sorry to hear that. I always enjoyed his posts. He had a good sense of humor and an approach to modeling as fun that I admired. The boats he made for his harbor scene inspired my own scratch built efforts. He was a gentleman and will be missed.

Oh my, that is really a tragedy. Jim was an outstanding modeler as well as a real gentleman and friend to us all. He will be missed by just about everyone in the model railroading community.

I didn't know him, but the passing of a member is always sad.

Not long after I joined the old site that became the Z place, 2guyz split off, so I didn't interact with Jim too much. I did browse the 2guyz from time to time, and was an occasional member. JIm will be missed.

This is so sad. Jim was a great inspiration to many and a good friend. I know he had some health problems going on but haven't heard anything for awhile. The modeling community has lost yet another great modeler and friend.

If I remember correctly - - - (
fat chance of that happening at my age ) it was one of the members of 2 guys that "pointed me in the right direction" ......here !
While I was there, I came to know Jim, and considered him a friend.

In the stage play that is life, Birth is "enter, stage left". Life is the "stage presence". Death is "exit stage right".
In the world of model building, Model railroading, Jim had a powerful "Stage Presence", and no "small influence" in my life.
He taught, I learned, and my days are the better for it.
Be at peace good friend.
