After only a few months on the Delaware and Hudson roster, this GP39-2's rear diamond is revealing the prior owner's branding - the white D&H having already peeled off.  The loco makes it's way into the south end of the Rockport tunnel.

Tom - Cool!  Is the LNE still a going concern on your layout?  Last diesels I believe they would have ordered were RS2's.  I do like the U23B's.  Weathering on yours is very good.  My mom lives between Bath and Northhampton, and I believe the LNE mainline was only about a mile from her house - now a Rails to Trails deal.

Inspired by another GE product then...   Another diamond painted over for a "CR" edition on the former U25B of the Erie Lackawanna.

TMo, Yes, on my layout the LNE is still around and so is the NYO&W. I have a couple of Atlas undecorated C420's that will eventually be painted for the LNE. I need to get a couple of EMD locos perhaps GP7 or GP9's to do in NYO&W scheme. The NYO&W had FT's, F3's, and NW2's. So apparently they like EMD as the LNE went for ALCO's.

That's just the kind of imagination that Charlie was talking about by running the Shay last week, Tom.  It's great that the LNE is still running somewhere.  I can easily see the classic red L&NE logo on the snout of a C420 and I think they would really look great.  The C420 is on my potential buy list - Conrail shipped quite a few of the LV's to the Delaware and Hudson (along with one Lehigh and Hudson River).  Sorta want to patch out a red LV unit and make it part of my D&H consist someday. I actually saw one of those that someone patched a few years ago, but I didn't win the auction for it - somebody wanted to spend more money than I did!
