Yes after years of missing, seeing them pull coal trains, I finally managed to get a picture of one of my favorite diesels. The SD80MAC. I caught it over the winter sitting on the Portage Branch Line that leads to the Coal Cleaning Plant here in town. The locomotive was occupied by the conductor and engineer and they left me get close enough to get a picture of it. Now here is the kicker. I took this with my cell phone and look how great it turned out!!!!!!!!

Very nice! I used to operate the CSX SD80MACs out of Washington D.C. into southern MD in coal service. Benning yard (Wash D.C) was home to around 6 of them at a time. Unfortunately one has recently been rolled on it's side, and not repaired, and all 13 of CSX's 80MACs have recently (last 2 weeks or so) been sent into storage.
That is a great shot you got there!

That is a great pic and it was neat that they let you get close enough to snap the shot. Rob

I found some pics of 80 mac's I took some time ago "before the merger/split" when they were still in there original scheme.
All of these pics are from the same day on the border of Jersey city and Bayonne NJ on the former LV bridge that leads to the Oak island yard in Newark. I was standing on the south end of the Society Hill condo complex realy pushing the limits of my zoom lens.
