The head end brakeman didn't expect this...June 4, 1976, eastbound at East Palestine, Ohio.  I would bet somewhere maintenance was done on that truck and someone forgot the Kingpin.  Bumpy track through town finally lifted the car out of the socket. The truck had derailed about 1200 feet to the west.  Taken by the best camera I had at the time

I like this shot with the morning mist and the bridge in the distance.
At first I thought that blue loco was a conrail.
I did not know that Beaver PA was near the Ohio River.

Hillyard, the bridge in the previous shot is on the Pittsburgh and Lake Erie. The B&O had trackage rights and ran most of their trains on the P&LE. They took over the P&LE in 1992.  This was a great photo location.
