Thanks for dropping by sarge, and I thank you for your comments, I feel I should try to seem a little more professional in my approach.... fact is I am probably trying to mask my public shyness and my "newness" to all things trains in my blabberings, but what the heck.... its who I is.
At the moment I can't spend as much time here as I like, but I hope you guys are enjoying the ride.
So, to continue.... some time ago, while out trying to buy or build a new residence or business close to the PistonBroke line,
..... so as to encourage people to come to live and work in the area, and so be able to encompass all the advantages that that has to offer,...... we stumbled upon an old Hotel in Idaho.
Originally built in the early 1900s and replicated by Bar Mills a few years back, we saw an opportunity to purchase the building and renovate it,.... and bring it back to its former glory.
And here it is Flat packed and ready for reconstruction
It has a base on which it is built
So first things first
Apparently the windows were originally in 5 bits which required assembling, now thanks to technology we have a one piece window.
The new age has finally caught up with the builders also. For the first time the airbrush, which has been sitting alone on the bench for a year, had its first run, and it didn't hurt a bit. I don't know what I was scared of, but with a bit of practice I could get to like it.
So here it is,.... Jacks first bit of airbrushing ... (And this is without Tetters new and improved airbrush station which I hope to copy one day)
for better or worse, its easier for the builders
Then after a primer coat
The walls got a taste of .."The Brush"
And an Ink was tried for the wood colour around the base
And to finish off tonight the balustrade was a peel and stick affair in three pieces Each of which were stuck one on top off the other, so as to give a 3D effect
Here is the before
And after
and
The "War Office" has had enough of the old and peeling paint effect, and has decided that the renovation will be done right. :hey: So it's a proper paint job, and a bright colour scheme in the offing boys.
So with the "War Office" breathing fire, its off to the paint shop to have a play with this new fangled air brush to try and get it right.......
.......there was a lot of balustrade to paint come morning.
