OK, the challenge is now open for entries. This is the place to put them. Remember, you can post up to five "seasonal" photos here. They can be five different shots of the same subject, or up to five different subjects, the choice is yours. Remember, if you start your post with one or two shots, you can always add to or change your post by using the "edit" button. Comments are welcome here as well.
The holiday season doesn't last that long, so the sooner you post, the longer we can enjoy your photos and concept of what the holidays and winter season is all about.

Very slow to date!
I guess I'll start off, then...
First, a Santa Fe warbonnet SD75M grumbles out of the Seneca Ridge tunnel on a grey day in winter.
The photographer thinks back to his childhood when he caught a fast-moving J Class raising spindrifts of snow as it blasted out of the same tunnel on a bright sunlight winter's day.
Later, I captured a Norfolk & Western Y6b 2-8-8-2 Mallet-type engine just about to enter the tunnel.

Not train related (well, Union Station is *just* out of sight down the street to the right...) but I shot this last night. Straight off the camera - no post-processing. The Centre Block of Parliament in Ottawa is lit from Dec 2 - January 7.
It was very cold (-20C with windchill) but I got a few shots and we got our tree at the market.
Merry Christmas!

All of the photos entered so far are great ... the very well done, indeed.
But shaygetz, that one is really telling of the season! I like it! Nicely posed!

The worst snow storm in 30 years has all but shut down the Kings Port & Western. Time to just hunker in and enjoy a break for the holiday before the work of shoveling out begins!
Merry Christmas!!!
