The trip was spectacular, with an added bonus that we were featured in a commercial for the Royal Gauge Railroad. My step-son and I might be on telly-vishun! I'll try posting the pics this afternoon.
OK, here we go - This is Shay No. 8 on disply in front of the old CAnon City Depot that is now home to the Royal Gorge Railroad. This was my ride, an F7A in the RGRR colors. The new (rebuilt/refurbished) excursion cars recently added to the RGRR roster. Sitting in the left seat awaiitng the signal to proceed. Entrance to the gorge ahead. Into the Gorge.

Royal Gorge trip - cont'd:
Deeper into the Gorge. Some of the remains of the old wooden aqueduct pipes to Canon City. Somebody had to blast some small tunnels for these piepes. The famous Hanging Bridge. We dropped of the film crew and then did a couple of roll-by's for thier benefit. |
