Hello,

i will continue here to write about my switching layout. Perhaps you remember my first thread about those 3 houses in Poughkeepsee,NY at http://www.the-gauge.net/forum/viewtopic...=22&t=4576.

After a move in a new town now i have an apartment with enough space for a layout.

this is my current layout plan. The word "Tuer" means door.

After I had renovated the room, I could begin with the installation of the first segments.


This layout is 1.3m high. Among them is enough space for another layout with a German prototype.





This weekend i started soldering the next tracks.


At this point at the main line I installed a B & O CPL signal of N.J. International.
The main line is on the main "story" of the city, the old B & O line, has long been dismantled to single track and belongs to CSX.
Some of the old CPL signals are still remaining.



next step - laying the wooden ties and painting those i needed for soldering the tracks.





Last step for this weekend - first ballasting with light gray ballast for the newly maintained main line and at this point a brown ballast for the branch.





I'm curious to see how everything looks tomorrow when it is dry.
Might be a little brighter. Let's see. Perhaps some chalk powder is necessary.

G'day Indy City,
Regarding this post and the referred to post that you have made, I am unable to see any of the pictures! In place of them is a white rectangle with "Pic-Upload.de Site don't allowed" message on it. It may be to do with my location in Australia, for example access limited to Europe only or something like that. I am looking forward to seeing your work.

I'm using template from Fast tracks for the turnouts and for the rest self made ones. I made them with an CAD program.

I changed the uploader. So our friends from Australia and New Zealand should be able to see them too. Thank you Pete for help with the first pics.

The work goes on and on. Little steps only but each one is a forward movement.

By the way - the ballast is dry today and it looks good to me.

After a month off again a little progress.
I bought two kits of Pikestuff's "The shops" to build a shop for my Indiana RR diesels similar to their Switz City shop.


Most is done and the first two diesels can look out of the shop

Next are things such as track construction, foundation for building, decorating and the installation of lamps, etc.

Are you going to stop handlaying the track and go to flex track.

No, these flex tracks are for my layout with german prototype.

It's e very high detailed track from the small german firm Weinert.

after a longer pause the work goes on.

I've begun to build a foundation in which I will pour gray dental plaster, which will be the floor.
I will use a special plaster from a firm named Dentona which can be used very fluid but it cures very hard without shrinking.





That will be the "pool" for the plaster


Unfortunately, the wall parts of Pikestuff are not detalliert on their back side. That's why I've started to build a second wall with the details on the inside. In addition, of course, in the original supporting steel skeleton of profiles. This includes the steel skeleton of H-profiles.



Even the office building gets its walls, but receives no interior








Meanwhile, I've begun to paint the skeleton with dark red color. The interior walls will get white or whitish-gray paint.
