That really is a neat project !
But, and I truly mean no disrespect here, we each are who we are:
hock:
Those of you who remember my boathouse build, and "SHINGLES ", approximately 7,500 of them each individually applied......... It is a "function of my vision, and brain" to instantly see repetitive patterns. In the photo of the shingled roof, using the commercially available "shingle stock", the two sections prominently in front, are virtually identical.
That said, looking back at the sheet of shingle material, the pattern is repeated six times vertically, and eight times horizontally. How could it not show up on the model !
It is because my eye catches the repeats, that I have to apply individual shingles to my wood shingled roofs. It's about an equal trade off......hours of shingling, or, constantly being distracted by the repetitive patterns.
I chose, many years ago, to spend the time. I
:o
" just gotta do, what I gotta do " :o
This is just the first time I've been able to demonstrate why I "have to".

We always learn far more from our own mistakes, than we will ever learn from another's advice.
The greatest place to live life, is on the sharp leading edge of a learning curve.
Lead me not into temptation.....I can find it myself!
