wow, some major layout work going on these days!

Wayne - are you going to have to add a second set of power feeders with the longer main line?

Geez, I hope not. I'd have to buy another 4' of wire, and the complications of doing all that extra wiring just makes my head spin.
Luckily, I'll be able to put it off for a while as I need to save up for some track - a rough guess-timate looks like around 300' of it. That should do the main line, with passing sidings, staging, the CNR interchange and some industrial sidings, along with the engine terminal. I'll have a better idea once all the framing is done and plywood installed on the top. That'll let me play around to see what the track arrangement should look like. I have a number of operational and visual requirements, but there's not much need for a trackplan - the main line will run from the current "end-of-the-line" to the upper staging yard, represented by the grey area in the photo below.
