This rail was 115 pound RE rail (brand new) (80 foot lengths) and was welded on site. It was installed on steel ties.
The locomotive was owned by the Kiski Junction Railroad, a former WSOR unit number 752, now a Youngstown and Southeastern locomotive.
This is what it looked like during tamping.
Unfortunately the mine is idled due to the EPA rulings on coal. There are over 40 million tons of coal left.[attachment=19268]
