Wow, thanks doctorwayne. I never thought about that - having rails soldered together makes them act as a single conductor without interuptions. I've seen pictures of helixes with just a ton of wire hanging off the sides of them, and I gotta admit, it's a real eye sore. Just like you said as well, having feeders for every length of rail and having a fault would take a long time trying to figure out where the problem is coming from. Thanks for the advice, it'll be going a long way
