Yes, the price on large highly detailed items can get our of hand rather quickly. For structures, a home FDM printer will work for many of them, but for cars and engines, one needs the detail available on a VERY expensive printer. I only use Shapeways for details and HO vehicles. Even the vehicles can get expensive, and I will be posting about several of them later this year.
