After gluing cork to the board tops, everything had a coat of paint, when all this was dry, track was laid out to see if it all fit,( I had given the points a spray with rust colour before fitting )once I was happy with the track layout it was all glued down with PVA and sprinkled with the first coat of ballast, just to hold it in place.
