Thanks Wayne, I didn't know about sanding the phosphore bronze wire before soldering. I've used it since a few years to make grabirons and feel comfortable working with that material. I'll take a look if I can get supplies at the local hobby shop.
I worked on the frame and pilots today. Not prototypical, but well within the 3 feet rule.
