While some may feel, even with good reason, that Mr. Trump's policies are ill-conceived, I don't think that we should allow it to come between us or our common interests. I'm not suggesting that we hide our heads in the sand like an ostrich (they don't really do that, anyway), but model railroading, in all its varied forms, is an escape, where we control our own little piece of the world.
If something bothers us in the real world, there are better means and venues for expressing our position, and ones where the source of our ire can be addressed much more directly. Write a letter, send an e-mail, hit the street in a protest march...even if it doesn't have the effect you hoped, it will be better than having a negative effect here.
I'll talk politics with friends, whether we agree or not, but politicians and their ilk and talk of their machinations have no place in my train room. My place, my train room, my rules!!...unless my wife says otherwise
