What I find interesting is your cost for water is cheaper than our cost here in East Palestine.  My SIL lives in Sun Lakes and told us what her water cost, and to be honest I had to check because I thought she was mistaken. I found the Surprise charges 33.79 for 9000 Gallons, where that same amount of water here costs me 40.04. Sadly that rate here is to double over the next 10 years because of upgrades to the water plant.  This is just water alone. Sewage is added to that and the water is 1/3 the price of the total bill.

Our total monthly bill from the City of Surprise has been between $80 and $90 each month. That includes sewer (wastewater), trash, water and an assortment of fees. I thought I'd try to cut the bill by being a bit more conservative, and I managed to cut it by around a dollar. Then I checked, our water usage is around $5.00, while the base rate is $29.00. This month we paid $4.74 for 2,000 gallons (plus the $29.00 for 0 gallons), so basically, the more you use, the less you pay per gallon. Based on that, 9,000 gallons would run us around $50 ($21 plus the $29.00 base rate). That, plus our sewer charges are based on our water usage. I wonder, if we didn't use any water one month, would our sewer charge be zero?
