Well, there were lots of boxcars with smooth-ish ends, but that car looks like a couple sheets of plywood and a gallon of paint was all that was needed to make it useful.
Most cars with smooth ends usually showed at least some rivets, indicating that there were structural steel members inside, holding everything together.
Here's one that I scratchbuilt, using sheet styrene, aluminum insulator's tape, and Archer rivet decals...
I wonder if that smooth end is hinged at the bottom, and can be dropped-down as a loading ramp?
