Good morning folks
It is currently 89 on its way to 95. According to the weather guessers today is the first day of our second heat wave of the season. The humidity is 54% which means it is hot but not oppressive.
Over the weekend we tried to limit our time outside. Saturday was downright oppressive. My wife and I made a short venture to the pharmacy and the post office. I had to drop off the SD40 locomotive that is going back to Athearn for repairs. We did some cleaning around the house but nothing heavy. Sunday I worked on fixing the herb garden. The garden is planted in a raised wooden planter. Several boards had come loose, and two legs were barely holding on. It took my wife, my daughter, and myself to get the planks back in place and I was able to place brackets to hold them in place. We realized that we are going to have to do the same to the other two legs. We are not sure if the planter is going to make it through the season. My wife found a metal one on Amazon and we are hoping the current planter can make it until Prime Day. You may be questioning why my sone didn’t help. He was at work as the Coordinator of the Upper Darby Mural Arts Program. He spent all day Saturday preparing the wall for the painting. Sunday, they began painting the mural. Despite the heat they had a good turn out of kids who helped them. If you go to Facebook and search for Upper Darby Mural Arts Program, you can see the pictures.
I worked on the subway entrance and assembled the sidewalk and stairs, and the fencing. I now need to paint them and assemble them together. I was able to run trains.
On the way home I need to stop at the hardware store and grab another corner bracket set. Hopefully I can add them to the planter. If time permits I want to run trains and work on the subway entrances and the Bridges Area.
I hope everybody has a good day.
