Their CV's are their own version. Some are the same but I think before an automatic change a check of the list is required. There are a lot of functions that are automatic, and a lot of features that I will never use. I got a good buy on this unit so I will learn some of the features I will use. So far my favorites are the ones made by Intermountain, and Bachmann makes a nice unit too, more detailed than the Walthers and Athearn DCC ready.

Aha! Well, based on what I'm seeing, if CV52 is 0, you can use CV03 and CV04 to set your acceleration and deceleration rates to 0. You can activate CV52 by setting it to 1, and use the MTH CV53 and CV54 instead. Looks like the advantage might be more granularity in the speed settings, but if you're typically setting those to 0 anyway, there's no advantage.
