I haven't been into work since last Wednesday when we had an "orderly shutdown" after Congress couldn't do their collective jobs. Since I'm a supervisor, orderly was 4 more hours after the rest of my staff left. I was hoping something might happen early this week down there, but it appears bleak. Grinds my gears, but there's not much I can do about the situation.
Played our annual 36-hole grudge match against our rival golf team from our league last Friday and our team emerged victorious which is a change from the last 4 years of doing it. Course we played is soon to go under the bulldozers and become more housing.
The dog's been the benefactor of my time at home - we've been hiking almost every day including today which was a bit rainy at the start.
Extra time at home has also meant that I'm spending more time here in my office with the railroad with a focus on finishing White Haven. You'll probably continue to see posts on my progress there.
Forecast is for cooler weather coming - it's been an Indian Summer kind of climate for the past two weeks.
