Greetings, gang.
51 under clear skies in the remote reaches of northern Iowa this morning. The high for today as well as for the rest of the week is supposed to be around 80 with lows in the 50s to around 60 with Wednesday as the only serious chance for rain.
The weekend was a complete success. Over 50 people showed up for the open house and I had a chance for at least a brief visit with everyone over the two hours. After that there were two dozen immediate family members at the house for a meal and fun. Lots of laughter and teasing (almost exclusively at my expense). As an example when my granddaughter and her family were leaving she said "We'll be getting out of your hair now, except you don't have any hair!"
Today the grind begins anew with baseball at 10 AM. Before then I need to make a grocery run as I'm out of Corona (not the virus). Also need to dispose of the leftover food. The green bean casserole has already gone bad and the cheesy potatoes are very mushy. I'm also concerned about the pulled pork and smoked chicken. I'm concerned they were not properly cared for and I'd rather not be responsible for someone's food poisoning. The trash can is already full so I'll be double dipping on Thursday when the trash is collected. I live on a corner lot so I can set the trash can out on one side and then after it's emptied I can refill it and put it on the other side. And that's enough rambling for today.
Gas was down to $3.48 yesterday evening when I was out.
