Hi TMo, I also like layouts that are higher in level, I've enjoyed operating Magoun pier at it's current height of 51.6 inches from the floor for years now.
However after seeing it in it's new smaller room I think I'm going to lower it by a few inches.
I plan on building my benchwork outside of the layout room, and then setting it in up the room after.
So I don't think i'm going to create a lot of dust, but I'm not afraid of covering up the pier if I have to I've done it before.
