In this episode of Jack on Tracks – The Back Shop, I'm back working on the Berkshire Knitting Mill and showing you one of the easiest ways to create realistic HO scale industrial warehouse doors using simple styrene.
These custom freight doors were made from the original kit cutouts, Evergreen V-groove styrene, angle styrene, and HO scale 1x3 strip material. I'll walk you through the entire process—from cutting the parts to assembling the door frames and adding the cross bracing that gives these doors a realistic industrial appearance.
Unfortunately, the original installation footage became corrupted, but I didn't want you to miss this technique, so I recreated the entire process. I'll also show photos of the finished weathered doors installed on the building.
