We went off yesterday to see some old neighbours. One of their neighbours is building an N gauge layout. He is retired from something that makes him expert in electronic control. He made a suspended layout in the basement that rises to the ceiling. He says that makes it very easy to work on the underside.
I took 2 boxes of N stuff that I haven't used since the mid-80s -- mostly building kits and scenic items and a bunch of freight cars. He gave a good impression of being pleased with it except for the box that only had a sprue and some transfers.
He has a lot of electronics and he plans to have a couple of trains running while he controls a third.

In model railroading, there are between six and two hundred ways of performing a given task.
Most modellers can get two of them to work.
