Ever try driving an 18 wheeler while eating a double beef Whopper and trying to read a road map? I have!!! That was in my younger days. 
I remember when I took my driving test the tractor I used had two shifters in it and during the road test I went to shift I steadied the wheel with my leg and used both hands to shift. Not the preferred method and it scared hell out of the guy giving me the test. BTW,I did pass the test.
