MasonJar Wrote:You can make a link work simply by typing it in:

If you want to use text to describe a link like this Big Blue Train Forum, the required bbcode looks like this:

Code:
[url=http://the-gauge.net]Big Blue Train Forum[/url]

In this case, the http:// is needed. The descriptive text can be anything.

Hope that helps.

Andrew

Even easier, simply "right click" on an address, then "COPY" it. Type in "", then "PASTE" in the copied info, followed by a "[color=#FF4000]]", then type in whatever descriptive text you wish. Finish it off by typing ".

For example: here's a simply-made link to Accurail's website, accomplished by following the instructions which I've written out in the previous paragraph, with the exception that I've purposely included an extraneous asterisk within the last set of parentheses, which will prevent it from showing as a working link[/url*]

or, without the *, it appears like this: [url=http://www.accurail.com/accurail/index.htm]here's a simply-made link to Accurail's website, accomplished by following the instructions which I've written out in the previous paragraph, with the exception that I've purposely included an extraneous asterisk within the last set of parentheses, which will prevent it from showing as a working link

The first "link" doesn't work, while the second one, despite its title, does.

I must give full credit to Andrew for this method, though, as he taught it to me several years ago when he first invited me to the "old Gauge" from the Model Railroader Forum. Thanks, Andrew. Wink Goldth
