One day, i went to the boneyard to find a replacement tranny for my car, and found one sitting on the passenger floorpan of a "convertible" (I don't know if it was actually a convertible, because it may have been a coupe with the roof torched off) The thing probably weighed a few hundred pounds, so we carried it back to the boneyard office on the HOOD of an old ford Torino. Why on the hood? Because the floorpans in the Torino were completely gone!
Yup ----it's a tranny --- sideshift early Ford . Glad you recongized it as such. I was not sure it would be.
