You may have noticed the small cardboard boxes in some of my previous pics.

I think they are a nice little detail that really can help to enhance the realism of a scene. Though they are only .200" x .300" x .200", they are quite easy to do.

Cut a .400" wide strip from a sheet of packing paper.

Score the paper at .100" parallel to each of the long sides. Cut only very lightly, don’t cut it through!

The two scores will hardly be visible, so bend the paper along the cuts.

Make short cuts on both sides of the strip. Cut from the two long parallel scores to the edges of the strip. Cut at .300", .500", .800" and at 1" measured from a short end of the long strip.

At 1.2" cut the piece off the strip.

Cut off the little pieces outside the two parallel scores at this end so that only a little tab in the middle remains.

That is how it should look like now.

Bend the piece where you made the small cuts.

Apply a little glue to the tab.

Put the walls of the box together.

Fold in the short lids on one side of the box.

Appy glue to these lids.

Fold in the long lids on this side, turn the box around and from the inside of the box, tap on the lids using a small screwdriver or another suitable object until the lids are safely glued toether.

Here you are!
