The one other thing I noticed is the almost directly overhead lighting, that produces some very realistic....."natural", shadows. I think this is a classic example of paying attention to "reality", and reproducing it in miniature. It's been a while since the last time I was in Florida (the closest to Miami I ever got was Boca Raton), but the scenery fits what I remember.
