When I accompany my wife to JoAnn's or Michael's, if she doesn't use the 40 or 50% off coupon and I've got the spare cash, I'll pick out a color or two that looks interesting. Before long a person builds up a nice collection of these little bottles. Sometimes they're even on sale!
Nice choice to use the technique you did...it's one of my favorites - as long as the mortar lines have enough depth and the brush stays dry enough. Helps if the bricks have good definition, too.
