BTW, you also asked about the poor fit of the faceplate and if it would bother me. Yes, i would think it sloppy, but I am more likely to walk up the street to the hardware store and buy a couple of nylon spacers the right thickness to fit between the faceplate and the bracket. I don't know if I am that way because I enjoy fixing things, or because I have very low expectations for a timely fix from a customer service complaint
