Not really like that, Jim.
On the one I am speaking of, they basically cut all the wood posts off around two feet below track level, then added concrete bent toppers on those, then 4 concrete beams running the length of the bridge. On top of that, they put timbers to make a solid deck, then ballasted ties and rail. I have photod but they are at work. Will start a new thread tomorrow.
