Is that from photo from the early '70's? I haven't seen a 'Fro like that in decades!!!!!

... and he just stopping by to paint the house? That's a serious brush!!!

I don't think Bob changed his appearance at all from the 1970s until his death. The dude is an absolute cult hero. He frequently used big brushes like that to apply large areas of background color, or to soften and blend the colors on the canvas together (create an illusion of distance). In the above photo, I suspect he is just holding the brush and the cameraman wanted to make sure the brush was noticeable in the photo.
