So if someone writes "Dave said that ..." or "Bill wrote ..." I won't necessarily know which Dave or Bill he is talking about. If the same person writes "As Puddlejumper wrote ..." then it is pretty clear to me who he is referring to.
And you have just presented the best argument yet. I hadn't thought of it that way.
