This is timely, Michael. I just finished listening to the most recent Model Rail Radio Podcast which focused on N scale. The main guest was Tom Knapp, who is apparently well known in the Nn3 circle. He shared a lot of information about that scale / gauge, including mechanisms that make good foundations for locomotives. I put together the show notes for this particular show (they should be posted in a day or two), and for a scale / gauge I thought bordered on mythical, there's a lot of stuff out there.
