I recommend the NCE power cab DCC system. It has the most features while costing significantly less than its competitors. My favorite part is the recovery programming and the CV Read-back. It walks you through programming most parts of the decoder so that you don't need to know all the calculations and CV #s. These have saved several "dead" decoders that would otherwise be lost in a confusing mess of CVs. It also is a hand held cab to start out with.
