The roof looks like 3-tab ( it's sheets, with three notches cut in the bottom edge, a little less than half way up. ).These are laid down in courses, with the "notches" lining up in alternate courses.
How it looks under the shingles would vary depending on when the roof was built, or last rebuilt. Currently, there would be a layer of Tar paper, over plywood sheets, that are nailed to the rafters.
GCLaser has sheets of cut strips, as do several other manufacturers, in HO, N, and Z scale, that can be glued in place, one strip at a time.
