As you can see...there's been some more weathering accomplished, decals added, and new a/c units installed on both sides of the car to help keep the lpp's cool in the summer while working the rails. I still plan on adding a propane tank beneath the car for crew cooking and heating, and probably some electrical cables so they can plug into local power to run the car when it's parked. I'd guess in the real world...somehow these cars would be able to get power from the engine, but I honestly don't know if that's even possible. The a/c units need a little chalk applied to tone them down a bit, and a rust line where the water from the condenser would drip out. I also need to add some small strips of styrene over the doors to block rain, as well as a storm door over the existing door. (I found a picture of a NS MoW built from converted boxcar that looked like someone attached a screened storm door from a big-box home supply store to replace the metal door. And some of their converted cars had a/c units like these, which gave me the idea to add them to my car.)

My thanks to Iron Goat for encouraging this MoW project, finding and giving the MircrTrains Troop Kitchen car to my boys and I - as well as the Southern Crane car and gondola - to complete our NS MoW train. So in honor of him, we're officially calling this NS MoW train by it's new nickname: "The Iron Goat". And the converted troop kitchen car will be affectionately called "the goat house" by the railroad officials and crews.

Cheers
Mark
