I am thinking about a layout between 1941 and 1974 of the LAJ. That would be a great opportunity to run the nice (small!!) S2 and S4.
The newly available Bachmann Santa Fe S4 in Zebra scheme might be used as a base.
I have got two questions:
1. The LAJ ALCOs are described as dark blue and NOT black as the Santa Fe zebras are. How blue is that blue? It looks very much like black on most photos. Is it a nogo to use the Santa Fe zebra as a base, even with some weathering?
2. I can not find any source for the lettering at the side of the hood (Los Angeles Junction RWY). And should it be white or silver?
ps. I would like to know your experience if you already got a new Bachmann S4
