I'm not aware of any method here to create a 'draft copy', but others may weigh-in with info on that. I have had composition windows open for several hours while composing a post (and often found, when attempting to post it, that I had exceeded the maximum allowable number of characters 
), but know of no way to save it here.
For posts which require some time to compose, I usual do them in a 'Word' document. When a photo is required, I leave a space or two, then type 'Insert photo #xxx here'.
When you've finally completed the text, simply 'COPY' and 'PASTE' it in your new composition window here, then add the necessary photos according to your notations, erasing the 'Insert....' notation, of course.
